According to the Private Label Manufacturers' Association (PLMA), one of five items sold in grocery stores, drug chains and big-box retailers in the US are now store brand. A recent study by ACNielsen found that globally 69 per cent of consumers questioned believe private label goods are extremely good value for money, with 62 per cent considering their quality to be at least as good as the big brands.
